Broadcast, Cable to FCC: C-Band Sharing Needs More Study

The reason I thought wireless would get their way is because when I was on the town council years ago the cell company was pushing to get their equipment on the local water tower. They only had to wait 30 days for us to pass an ordinance to approve it but no...they filed paperwork with the county court to get it through. At that time I realized they don’t care what they spend on lawyers and legal fees so I figure they must lose thousands every day they didn’t provide service. Every person seems to have a phone but not everyone (or not every household) has cable so the big bucks are in wireless. Money talks.

Ah, but...consider the amount of Cable Head-ends, AM, FM, and TV broadcasters who would be adversely affected. I get the "money" bit, and agree for the most part...however, would you want to be the Commissioner, Chairman, or on the committee that mucks up more public communications than anything else in years of history? There still is hope....
On a similar "money" note, we all need to remember that even though the NAB is working on the issue, they do not speak for the small broadcaster. They are in bed with big broadcasters more than those like us.

Just a note. My father was a DJ for years at the local radio station, and at one time, they were broadcasting in AM Stereo, and it sounded great. Somewhere in my storehouse of goodies, I have an AM Stereo radio given to me by a good friend that worked with my dad at the station. Both are dead now, but I spent a lot of time at the station when I was young, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It's hard these days to find anyone who remembers AM Stereo.

Nice to hear it. Enjoy it (AM stereo) anytime on our stream, it's fed by a tuner in my office. There's a link to our station on the WION forum elsewhere on this site.

I was just on it a couple minutes ago. I will enjoy it more often now that I know where it is. :)
