according to folks that can access it, the channels are listed as mpeg4, but the actual video is mpeg2 at 1280x1080i, what a joke!!

I haven't watched any voom channels since finding out about them downrezzing them. At one time I watched Equator alot but I have no interest in it now. If they don't put them at full rezz I'll drop them. I have a feeling that dish is going to make them part of the HD pack so that you can't just drop voom without droping the rest of the HD channels like ESPN,HD Net,ETC. I think he is doing this because he knows we will want to drop Voom but won't drop the other HD channels, especially since he's adding ESPN2 HD. Its all been analyzed and they think they got us by the balls.
Dish won't have me by the nards , I will drop them all, also the content providers like Discovery and HDNet will not like that idea if Dish wants to do that(and I have a feeling you are correct)
I have no problem raising a stink with them either
Gosh I swear, why can't Dish do the right thing ??, they will come out better in the end by advertising themselves ahead of Directv in HD quality, they put themselves on the same level playing field as Directv and folks will say "why not go over to Directv??" and if this happens there won't be any reason for anyone not to, all HD will suck and it will come down to all the sports on Directv

i Just can't wait for GamePlay , the new video game channel on voom.. I just got my xbox 360 last month and can't wait to see game demos and clips and strategy guides in hidef 1080i , boy can life get any bettter. I am going to ces next week to get the news firsthand.

I could really see the difference yesterday when they were showing over Phili.I was getting a color smear as they were flying over the trees. I thought it was my tv, but then I went to some recorded HDNET over Britian and it looked great. They should at least put Equater at 1920x1080.

We will probably see the first commercials on any VOOM channel on GameplayHD mostly Microsoft X360 and maybe PS3 videos like Hdnet does. I can see it now live clan matches broadcast on the TV since alot on the new games allow for spectator mode. They can even do Battlefield 2 matches from the PC 32v32 players in 1920x1080 glory
Anyone notice lately that the Monsters channel was out of the 2-movie loop pattern? These past few days they were showing 8-10 different movies a day. I missed the start of one movie I wanted to record, so I thought, "I'll just get it again in 2 hours." But to my surprise, it didn't play again in the next 10 days. Nor did at least 10-12 other movies.

Perhaps I'm just remembering the evening programming on Monsters. When they would show Movie A at 7 & 11 and Movie B at 9 & 1.

Exactky my thoughts. And if they'd host it online and real-time, I'd even participate in UT2004 live matches.
