I think LeBron has handled it perfectly. Forcing teams to put up or shut up. Miami is serious about this, I hope he goes there. Negotiations with free agents started July 1st didnt it?NBA Free Agents - 2010 NBA free agents - InsideHoops.com

heaven forbid he take a whole week to decide his future. Just what the heck do you want from the man? If there was too much talk about it before July 1 then blame the media outlets not LeBron. He wasnt allowed to negotiate until now.
AGREED!:up

After this, ESPN faces its annual crisis. This only gave them a month's extension.

They have to actually start covering actual sports which are in-season, such as baseball. Sports which do not get regular season ratings measured with 1s and the very occasional 2.

Reason #54085 why the NBA is just so much hype, and almost no actual sport.
ESPN covers baseball the most, so I don't understand your complaint. It isn't ESPN's fault that most people aren't interested in baseball as much as other sports these days

Going to be quite the spectacle tomorrow, going to be hilarious reading some of the meltdowns on other forums and columns, no matter what his decision is. Will he return to his team after not being able to bring it a championship, his final game being among the worst of his career and as a loser, or snub his hometown on the biggest stage he could find by announcing he's not returning and going elsewhere.

Of the four teams leading the LeBron Derby, here's what I have come up with:

If he stays in Cleveland, he's going with loyalty

if he chooses New York, he wants fame and money

if he chooses Miami, he wants a title

if he chooses Chicago, he wants to 'fill the shoes.'

His ego can't take Miami. He will be second fiddle to Wade, something he won't put up with.

James' family and friends are divided over his decision to play in Miami, according to sources. Opinions range from understanding his desire to play with All-Star teammates, to feelings that he is selling himself short by joining "Wade's team,'' to concerns that by playing on such a power-packed squad he will hurt his brand even if he wins championships.

Quite the ego for this generation's Karl Malone

Already has that, ever since HS.

if he chooses Miami, he wants a title

On an All Star team, does LeBron even get credit if they do win ?

if he chooses Chicago, he wants to 'fill the shoes.'

I don't see this happening.

I'm wondering if ......

He's wanting to stay in Cleveland and is expecting the owner/GM to add a large piece of the puzzle shortly after, or even at the same Show that he announces his choice.

The problem is, currently they don't have a lot of cap space....
