BRAVIA 40" problem.

hello guys.
My Bravia refuses to turn on. There is a flicking noise like it is turning on and off around 10-20 times per second when i try to turn it on. There is nothing shown on screen, just that click click noise that keeps forever...
I don't know if it helps, but i switched her off by the remote control of my Sony DVD recorder (that can work for both devices). I pulled the plug off, i tried anything manually but the problem persists.
Anything as a hint, please? Before i go to the service (the warranty is over).

Sounds like the florescent lights have failed. Unfortunately that means a service call

A certified tech from Sony might be costly. If you have any mom and pop shops around. I would give them a try first.
