I have never liked the way the site is set up for how it lists the sub forums feeling that it deminishes and in some respects harms the site overall. With the recent forums list overhaul sections of the forums got moved down to the bottom and are now suffering, lets face it, people are lazy and will even consider scrolling down more than a page to much effort. My case in point, http://www.satelliteguys.us/forumdisplay.php?f=73 is a sad indicator at what happens when a forum that gets moved to a bottom of the building section becomes. The last post to this particular forum was may 9th, this is a good service within satelliteguys and a definite indication that the directory method being used now is a hinderance to the site.

I think that the directory setup should be changed to a smaller set up such as something like this.

Basicly the page will have these links and go to the sub forums under each link, right now theres to much for lazy people to have to scroll down through where as a link and little or no scrolling will be more effective. The forums main page with the links will most likely not have to scroll as the links will not take up the whole page and would only need a one line description under each link.

I thought it was fine the way it used to be. Now when I want to post a general topic, I won't put it in the chit chat club Like I used to, I put it in the pub simply because it gets more views...

I don't know that scott has stretched the forum too thing, too quick, but I've questioned the new ordering, and there's another thread around here about it. It hasn't been long so I can't blame scott for not being in panick mode yet, but in a month or two I hope he'll take a look at the stats (if he can compare per forum from then to now) and make a few changes...
