The Red Sox are aggressively shopping outfielder Manny Ramirez now, according to major league sources, at a time when the slugger's trade value has peaked, and there is a sense among some executives that their trade talks are gaining momentum.

The AL East would love to see Manny gone to another division or the NL. The RBI machine gone from Red Sox offense? Who is going to back up big Papi....? Big Papi... will break the MLB Walk in a single season if that happens. :D

As a Yankee fan all I have to say is thank you if they do.

Lets see if they even sign the guy they bid 51 miilion on.

IMHO they did that for two reasons and one was to block the Yankees.

I would have to say they accomplished thier goal, if that is what it was all about.

Rumors has it that Boston is looking into signing J D Drew for some ungodly amount to take Ramirez 's place ?, I hope they are kidding ... But I doubt it.

too bad the indians just signed superstar hitter dave delluci (please know that I am kidding here). Anyone that bats .093 last season with runners in scoring position is a welcome addition here in cleveland! its nice to see we now have all of the phillies backups in left field for cleveland! If we didnt sign that stud i would say the indians should be in the mix of teams to get manny (even though we dont have much to offer- anyone want Aaron boone?)

THREE YEARS? We just got rid of the albatross that is Aaron Boone and now we're taking on this contract?!?! There just has to be more to this. There just has to. o offer- anyone want Aaron boone?)

It was reported that the Indians were considering getting in the hunt for Ramirez.
Personally, I think Boston would be foolish to trade Manny unless they got a major run producer in return.
No, I don't consider JD Drew to be a major run producer.

Not sure who I would consider.

He only "killed" the yankees in the 2004 ALCS. Ortiz kills the yankees a lot more than Manny.

Ortiz was able to kill them, because Manny was batting before or behind him.
It will be interesting to see if Ortiz gets pitched too with out Manny being there.
He probably will look alot like B. Bonds, a walk machine.

except for the 2004 playoff year, how many playoffs has the team that he's been on won.

asking because I don't know, and is it really worth all that money and complaining that he does.

I'm not an American League fan, but seems to me the Red Sox needs pitching, and if they can trade Manny for good pitching that would do well for Boston.

Good luck with Delucci. He'll start crying the day he doesn't start everyday. That's what he did in Philly. Seems the guy had 1 good season and expected everyone to fall at his feet.

I think it's a big mistake to get rid of him, he is most of their offense.
