The folks at TVShowsonDVD.com have the inside scoop on one of the biggest blockbuster hits of last year finally making its way to Blu-ray. According to their sources, 'Transformers' will finally be arriving for Blu-ray on September 2nd. The release is expected to mirror the previous HD DVD release (minus the glitches, of course).

Nothing is official at this point, but we'll keep you posted as more information surfaces.

Thanks goes to Stryydr for submitting the news.

What glitches are they reffering too?

Probably all those compression artifacts that Michael Bay was seeing using VC-1...

It will be really interesting if they reencode it using AVC, or if they leave it VC-1 and he sees it being a lot better since it is on Blu Ray instead...

maybe the LFE glitch or whatever on the scene where the shock wave goes through the base in the beginning.

Was Mr. Bay sober this time during this statement?

Very few people have seen the VC-1 encode of Transformers.
The HD DVD was encoded AVC.
