That'll have to be replaced then. The Hopper uses the pretty much the entire bandwidth. One good thing is that because the Hopper is running the whole show, it can go anywhere, which may not make aesthetic sense, but won't change functionality, other than the fact that the Hopper 3 is a 4K receiver and that only the Hopper has YouTube on it. Something to consider when deciding which cable to replace

I would have too, but we had a class with a PPC rep who talked about the different eras of receivers and the bandwidth they use. Joeys are in the legacy range, which is why cabling isn't critical like it is for Hoppers. Super Joeys need 2150 or above and Hoppers use the entire 3Ghz spectrum, apparently. Ironically, the new Columbus office is having that exact class tomorrow and I'm here training new guys. I'll get the specs for that from Pete (the guy that teaches it)I would be willing to bet the 2.2 ghz cable would work. Just because it is not rated for it does not mean it wont carry it.
That being said the cable from dish to hopper is usually outside and not in a wall so just replace it.
IIRC Joeys run on the MoCA frequencies below 1000 mhz. 211's and Wally's use 950-1450 mhz, dual tuners like the 722 and 222 use 950-2150 and Hopper 1's and 2's use 950-3000. Hopper 3's on Hybrid require 3000 mhz according to Dish but AFAIK the exact Hybrid specs are still secret. I've heard rumors that they use below 2200.

Yes, if your cable is in good shape and is not too long, there is a change. But best if you can replace it.

Here's the graphic of how Dish uses the 30 Mhz - 3Ghz spectrum per receiver type and where LTE fits into the scale. Also he confirmed, Hybrid still requires 3 Ghz and the rumor of stepping down to 2200 is not true
