I have an H34 system with 3 C31 clients. I am hoping its possible to block access to the DVR for the client in my 5 yr old daughter's room. Any advice?

Yes, I'm not home but I can give you instructions later. You can disable certain receivers from being able to receive the shared playlist from your HR34.

As far as I know it is not possible to block a client from accessing the Genie server. That's because the C31 is really part of the server, for all intents and purposes - the C31 playlist IS the Genie playlist. You would need to replace the C31 with an HD receiver in order to make this work.

That's correct. And if you want to make 100% sure you can use a Band Stop Filter.

Wouldn't setting up parental controls block the show(s) you don't want your kid to have access to? I don't lave a client but I'm sure they have those settings as well.

You can block individual channels from viewing but as far as I know there is no way to block the list....

You are correct, band stop won't work with a C31, it will stop it working completely.

I'm pretty sure the HD receiver is the way to go. You'd just need to go have the band stop filter placed on it. This would stop MRV and no worries trying to determine if a C31 can blocked from recordings. I'm pretty sure it can't be since it IS part of the actual 34 in a sense

Yea i new h2x +bsf would work, the guy that moved downstairs asked me if i kud set his box up for him, hes got an h25 and i threw a bandstop on it to keep it off my genie after i ran the line. Wasnt sure about the c31.
