Anyone know the over all length of the support arms on a Birdview 2028. C band comes in great, but ku really sucks. I loosened up the screws on the scaler ring and got a better picture moving it no farther than 1/4 inch. The waveguide is set at .42 as I have read on here. Didn't move that, just the scaler ring.

Thanks, that is what I needed. I have been digging thru many post trying to find that answer. Mine had no threads on the end to the scaler ring, Three of the six supports had some sort of glue on them holding in place on the dish. All had different lengths to them. Are the threads about 3/4 of an inch long?
Sounds like somebody tried to take them off to move the dish and broke them. I know,I broke one of mine. I have no more than a couple threads sticking out, but my B'view has the adaptor kit already installed for a regular c-band feed, so the lengths may be different. I used a couple lengths of allthread and a ferrule to fix mine.
There is almost exactly 1/2" of thread on each end of the support arm.
Here is some pics of how I added some threads and added some thread extensions that linuxman gave me. As Stogie mentioned you could use all thread for some, or all of the arm, also.

Thanks Guys, they have been broken off at both ends, so I think that stainless all thread is what I am going to use. I will let you know how this turns out. The overall length of these are 42 inches including the threads. Thanks again...

I'm happy I left my scalar and support arms on while moving and drilling the scalar out. All of mine tight, strong and ok.
I have not gotten much done the past couple of days, Been under the weather and staying at my favorite Hotel ( hospital) so maybe if the weather and me holds out I will get back on this tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice. btw what is the measurement from the center of dish to the mouth of the wave guide?
Been gone for a while . Weather was good today when I got home and deciced to work on the old dish. Got the support arms rebuilt and put on and remounted the scaler ring and the feedhorn. Hooked up the ole 920 and decided to check some of the birds. Amc 6 got the c band side of Nasa and all channels were in the mid 90's . So i kicked over to the ku side and got the mux at 80 to 85 quality. Went down to 91 and checked that one and the Starfish channel is running at about 75 quality. Went to White springs and it scanned it and got it but at 54 quality. Went back to 91 and had to lower the dish a bit and bumprd it to the east and the Starfish came up tp 94 quality.
Mux is now running at 98 quality. Went back down to White Springs and getting it now at 88 to 92 Quality. The thing I have noticed on all of thisis I don't pick up the CW at all on 91. Cleared the channels out rescanned and still don't recieve CW. I have a Pansat 3500 slaved to the 920. I bypassed the 920 and hooked up to the 3500 direct and still can't get it. Qnyone have any ideas? Again thanks for any advice!

Thanks AC Radio, i have just got this reciever and don't know anything about it. Is there any manuals available for it online? I bought it used with with a HTR 8 analog reciever so I have nothing to really go by. Lak 7 it is a pansat 3500 dvb reciever. Is this a decent reciever? Thanks!
