Anyone use Billfixers to negotiate new fee? It's relatively new.

To negotiate a new fee for D* ?
Are you talking about as a new sub or existing ?
No I have never used them, but I can't see how calling a 3rd party company would be able to change your bill.

I wouldn't say they are a ripoff. They were reported on a morning news show.

It's 2 guys in college I believe. They call and pretend to be you and try to negotiate a lower rate of fee. However they get 1/2 of what they get you for 1 year. So if they save you $40 a month off, they get $20 a month.

The iffy part is you have to give them all your personal info so they can be you. Account numbers, SSN, DOB, etc.

They apparently have a 94% success rate. Read the NY Times article.

So, when your year deal expires, do they call that company again ?
What happens when there's a dispute with the bill, are these guys gonna be there to fix it, or are you just screwed ?

Gave it a go myself. Was very polite. Told them what Dish offered for equivalent service, equipment and programming with 2 yr contract. Got transferred to "Loyalty". With no fuss, got $53/month reduction. Doesn't hurt being a 20 yr customer. Very polite and professional on their end as well. Kudos to DirecTV.
