I have a Von Weise linear actuator 24",Model
V76-5 gearmotor (Fasco). I took it apart to clean it and I guess the 2 lobed wheel that kicks the limit switch got moved. Anybody know how far out the arm has to be from minimum and what position the inner lobe has to be to set it up to factory specs?
Anybody out know if there is a service type
manual for these babies? Also looking for service and repair info on Venture and Thompson/ Saginaw Performance Pac
turners. No TV for me til I feex!

To prevent mechanical damage to the actuator the contacts should touch the cams before reaching the physical limits. Try to crank the shaft a bit by hand then adjust the microswitches to contact.

I set mine by taking the receiver outside. Connecting the motor to the receiver actuator terminals with a short piece of four conductor wire.

Stand at the dish with the receiver plugged into a long extension cord and use your remote to run the dish to the far west. Just before the motor reaches the far west limit stop it and set the lobe for the west limit to where it pushes the micro switch down to turn off the motor.

Now BE VERY CAREFUL here!

Run the dish east until you get to your true south satellite. That is when the dish is at its highest zenith point on the mount (In the middle if you want to think about that way).

Go slightly more east until you see the arm getting withing a couple inches of the mount itself. You DO NOT want that arm making contact with the mount as it will kill your motor.

When you get to that point STOP and set the east CAM lobe.

BE careful! Don't Dump the dish on the eastward swing.

You may have to re-program your sat positions or tweak them a little.

Good luck.
