I just saw an article posted at http://www.escapistmagazine.com/print/62/5 that I find rather upsetting - I sure hope there are none of these guys (ab)using this site, but now it makes me wonder if you can trust equipment recommendations from other users. I suppose if a product is really awful, no amount of perfume will turn it from a skunk into a flower. But when you have competing products that are all more or less equal, guys like this could give an unfair advantage to one company's products over another.

Sadly, I guess you can't really trust anybody on the Internet these days unless you know them personally. I guess I always knew that to some degree, but never realized there were people this opportunistic out there. The sad part about it is the guy knows he's evil (and probably wouldn't want his mother to know what he does for a living, which is essentially deception for hire) but he does it anyway.

P.S. I am NOT accusing anyone on this board of doing anything like this, but it probably is something the mods should watch out for, just to keep everyone honest.

They're pretty common at another certain site. And when outed, they'll create other IDs to come to their defense.
