BEV 5900 or Dish 510?

I just picked up what I thought was a Dish 510 DVR (because that's what it says on the front panel!) but when I turned it on, it says it's an ExpressVu 5900 which doesn't seem to like the 119 or 110 satellites!
From what I've found on a search, this cannot be activated with Dish, correct?
It also has a Dish card in it, by the way!
Looks like it might be on Ebay soon!

correct. Dish will only activate a Dish box

Sounds like you bought a box that a no good hacker was using.

The ExpressVu 5900 and the E* 510 are the same hardware, just different firmware.
But E* will not activate an ExpressVu box.
