Who do you think was the most underrated baseball team of all time?

I think the 1981 Cincinnati Reds were because they had the best overall record for the year of any team and didn't even get into the playoffs because of the strike in the middle of the year. That year because of the strike they had the winner of the first half of the season play the winner of the second half of the season. Unfortunately the Reds came in second both times and were left out.

Here we go:

"Losing Record = First Place
With a 52-62 record, the Texas Rangers led the American League West in 1994 when the season was wiped out due to the players' strike, on August 6th."

Yes you are correct, but they still sucked. They didn't have a winning record. That division was a battle of attrition more than a fight of good teams.

This thread is about good teams that didn't get the recognition they deserved. :)
