Hi guys -

I've done some research and was doing some reading about different options for Dish and tailgating. We tailgate in Columbia, SC and last weekend we brought a 500 dish and my 211k. We were able to pick up the 110 and the 119 without much problem, but then we found out that ESPN2 and a couple other channels (Versus, I believe) were on 61.5, along with the locals. We thought we'd be able to pull in locals OTA, but for whatever reason were not able to and for the next game we'll be at on October 10th, we'd like for everything to work without any hitches.

So I've been thinking about the different options we have. We could use the other extra 500 dish we have to pull in 61.5, but that means bringing an extra dish every week and buying another tripod setup. Then we have the option of either the 1000.2 or the 1000.4 dish: we have good LOS on both, but it seems like the the 1000.4 might be the way to go since it's at a much higher elevation - helps keep us "future proof".

So, what would you guys do? Just bring the extra 500 dish and get another tripod setup for it, or use one of the 1000.2 or 1000.4s? All we really want are ESPNHD, ESPN2HD, Versus, and locals. I'm on the HD Absolute package.

I would get a 1000.2 or 1000.4 rather than setting up two dishes. The deciding factor between the two would be the local stations. If the locals are on 61.5 then the 1000.4 is the way to go. If they're on 129 I would go with a 1000.2.
