Iceberg is probably a walking database of satellite info and probably forgot more than most people will ever know!
Anyway, instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd add to it.
First I have a Super Dish and a nice Primestar (Round metal one). Mounting a feed may take a bracket or whatever but we all know it can be done with duck tape if you want to.
My question is. Is there really a need for circular and linear feed on a dish I listed?
I have been looking at:
DMX522 Dual Twin Double Ku Band Linear FTA LNB- LNBF
0.2 dB Dual Twin Double Ku Band Linear FTA LNB- LNBF HD - eBay (item 220592478469 end time Jan-14-11 10:51:34 PST)
and:
Digiwave DGL1189S CIRCULAR / LINEAR DUAL KU BAND LNBF LNB
NEW CIRCULAR / LINEAR DUAL KU BAND LNBF LNB - eBay (item 190369251400 end time Jan-24-11 16:45:26 PST)
I have a Viewsat Ultra that is going to be used somewhere like maybe in the basement with all my junk (my playground). I plan to motorize the dish, most likely the Primestar because it is so nice...It may end up with more than one LNB too, even though I'm gonna put a dual output on it to begin with. Might not have to put a motor on it...
Oh, before I forget. I have probably ask this question a few years ago but my neighbor had a tree growing and was not going to cut it down. I would've had to mount a dish on a 50' pole. She got a new pool and is cutting it down. I have already ordered a S9 and a Vbox V3000 (not here yet), a standard DMX741 (22 KHz switch version, already in use on my 6' Perfect 10 and love it), 4-way splitter with one port voltage pass thru, and a 4 port DisEQ switch.
I forgot to yell a little bit! HOORAY, SHE IS CUTTING DOWN HER TREE!!! HOPE TO BE UP AND RUNNING GOOD BEFORE SPRING!!!!
I have a good start!
Also didn't aim to hijack the thread but we are discussing the best LNBF for a smaller (not BUD) type setup.
I've already spent a good deal of money and wouldn't want to waste any now or otherwise screw up.
