I AM NEW TO THE HOPPER. I HAVE 2 HOPPERS AND 4 JOES. I HAVE THEM ABOUT 2 WEEKS BY NOW. IT IS GREAT!
IS ANYONE KNOWS WHAT IS THE CHEAPEST AND BEST EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE OF ABOUT 2 TB OF MEMORY TO COPY SHOWS TO KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE VIEWING. WHAT SHOULD I LOOK WHEN BUYING A HARD DRIVE FOR THIS PURPOSE. SHOULD ANY HARD DRIVE CAN DO IT, OR IT NEED TO HAVE A SPECIFIC TYPE. THANK YOU.

Just be certain to get an HDD that provides external power and at least a USB 2.0 port. USB 2.0 NOT USB 3.0. There are quite a few HDD's now that don't include USB 2.0 and have all manor of combinations of ports. Look carefully. 2TB is the current MAXIMUM that will function with Dish. Also, NO fat type double drive type of HDD: where the 2TB capacity is achieved by encasing TWO 1TB drives. Dish recommends just about any of the large, well-known "reputable" HDD brands (WD, Seagate, etc.), but advises against many of the "off-brand" super cheap HDD's. Other than that you should be good to go.

I would also suggest checking newegg.com,they usually have great deals.

New 40.0 remote doesn't work.
