Benefits of broadband connection?

Hello everyone -

I finally connected my Dish 622 to my home network. I reset the connection in the system setup menu and everything seems to be working. My question is this: What are the benefits of connecting to my home network? Do I still need to connect a phone line? Are there additional features this connection will allow me? Thanks

It eliminates the need to have a phone line hooked up and still save the $5.00/month fee.

Technically, you can download movies from Dish with this connection but unless non-new releases at $4/ea appeal to you, I think you'll pass (as most people probably do).
