Hi there I'm sort of new to this but about 15 years ago I did use C-Band.
I have a C-Band dish still. It's big, my guess 9-10 foot diameter and it is
the wire mesh type instead of the solid type.

Can I get Galaxy-19 on C-Band and is the reception good? I live in BC
Canada in the south near Kamploops and the southern skies have
no obstructions in front of my satellite as I live up a mountain.

I was thinking of the LEXIUM DBS7000 receiver and was wondering
what type of LNB I would need? I'm thinking of just locking onto one
satellite such as G-19 for now.

Getting so fed up with the small pay dish and have been dreaming about my C-Band again.
A little confused still about if ku band channels can be received on a C-band dish.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!

Your dish will receive C-band fine including Galaxy 19. Many free channels are available on a dozen or more satellites.

You might want to simplify your system polarity control by replacing the existing Feedhorn and LNB with a voltage polarity switched C-band LNBF. Mesh dishes may provide adequate KU reception, but most of us would recommend a smaller 90cm or 1.2m motorized dish dedicated for KU. This will typically provide better reliability and optimization for KU band.

Wouldn't recommend buying a MPEG2 receiver, but rather a newer MPEG2/4 DVBS2 unit instead. Several models available, but I am partial to the GEOSATpro microHD. :D

To move the dish (if you have the linear actuator motor) also purchase a controller G or VBox to allow the new digital receiver to automatically position the dish.

Take some photos of your dish and I am sure many more will have suggestions to get your system up and running!

Hey Brian, thanks for your help and tips, I really appreciate it. OK, after doing some research, you got me sold on the GEOSATpro microHD. If I chose the 1.2 motorized ku band dish with the Geosatpro microHD receiver, can you supply me a link to your website where I can find it as I only found the stationary dish?

happy to help

Here is the microHD receiver:

Note also, we have a massive forum support area for that receiver.

To motorize your SatelliteAv 1.2m Ku dish (excellent choice),

...you might consider the DG380 from Sadoun.
You'll want the model with the larger shaft.

For a Ku LNBF, the satAV PLL model is recommended, too.

If you can take delivery to the Washington side and drive it across the border, you will save allot and you could buy directly from us. Suggest that you call in and request the GEOSATpro 1.2m Ebay special which includes the KU band SL1PLL LNBF. The sales team could place the microHD in the carton to save nicely on a package and on shipping.

If you need to purchase within Canada, the are several Canadian resellers with the microHD and the SL1PLL. Don't know of any Canadian resellers for the GEOSATpro 1.2m

Thanks Brian. Just got off the phone with Eugene and will order some things soon from you guys.
BTW, what a decent guy Eugene is too. Patiently helped me out with all my questions as well.

while waiting for your shipment...

Movin' right along! :up

You know, we'll want to see pictures when the new bits arrive (and when set up, of course).
In the mean time, get up some pix of that BUD.
I'm sure some of the members will have helpful comments! ;)

For later, you might take a peek at the FAQ department, and read through Switches Simplified, if that would help.
But it's nothing that can't wait. :)

If I chose the 1.2 motorized ku band dish with the Geosatpro microHD receiver

1.2 motorized ku band dish with the Geosatpro microHD receiver is a good decision. You can still use your existing C-band lnb on the big dish. If you still have your old C-band receiver, you can use it to control your polorator while the Geosatpro microHD receives the S2 signal. I would point that C-band dish at 107W Anik F1R once you receive your new Geosatpro microHD. That will give you CTV in HD in five time zones. I am one hour south of you in Vernon and can receive all the satelites listed in my signature below with a C-Band dish.
