Greetings to all- I saw an ad while watching directv, for an auction site called beezid.com. You can even use direct1 code when joining for extra bid credits. Avoid this site like the H1N1 ! Being a longtime e-bayer, thought i would check it out. WHAT A SCAM. Just wish I had thought of it first. You have to buy "bids" to participate. They generate phony bidders to stop or extend an auction.
Some great products, but I doubt anyone actually wins anything. They make big$$ just on the bidding process. Just a heads up to all.

You have evidence of the fake bidders...that would be a pretty serious crime.

Ken- obviously I don't have hard evidence in hand. I know it's a waste of time, but spend sometime watching the auctions. Unlike e-bay, you only see the last 10 bids, no bid history. You cannot contact another buyer or bidder-but u see a pattern after a while. Bids average about 60 t0 70 cents apiece.Big screen tv's had several thousands of bids on a single item. It appears someone got a $2000 tv for like 150 bucks, but they got 15,000 bids to get to that price. And if no one really wins,they make huge profits on the bidding system and still have the original tv to do it all again. I not accusing anyone of breaking the law, just a heads up to anyone who thinks they may get a 55" flat panel for $80 . Do the math or google beezid.

I agree with you ... those sites are nothing more than a form of gambling and in general you're going to spend more than you would otherwise to buy the products. Of course they're setup to make money and get enough bids to more than cover the cost of the product that still doesn't mean they're delivering the product to the winner at the cost he bid.

I can tell you on a similar site I had a friend get a Kindle for a total of about $75 including his bids. The sites aren't for me but I think at least the biggies are on the level.
