Been on long time since I used Autohop, couple of ?

Decided to tinker around with it on the H3 and noticed a couple of odd things. I'll fully admit I haven't used it much and it was a long time ago, but I do think the feature is very handy.

I realize channels like CBS and Fox have a week delay now or whatever so it will take awhile for that to show. I have also been noticing some inconsistencies where I have three NCIS recordings for example, the first and third show auto hop icons, the second does not. None of my Blue Bloods recordings do. I have them on Blacklist but don't see them on Grimm.

Is that because I turned it on after recording some of this, or are there other reason?

If they are recorded with PTAT on, it is a very rare error if autohop does not appear after the delay. If recorded with PTAT off, it may not appear.

Some were recorded with it off, or actually before I turned it on last week. I ended up just setting it to on for all 4 networks, and to only record on Saturday. I really do not need the PTAT feature recording 7 days per week, but like autohop.

You only need PTAT turned on for one day and to save for the minimum 2 days for autohop to work for all 7 days.

Perfect, I have:

PTAT on for ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox
Keep for 2 days
Active only on Saturday

So i"m guessing you could even remove 3 out of the 4 networks and still be ok?

Well I run each day and keep for 8 just in case a sports event or something pushes one of my timers out of time.

Nope, you can make the function as minimal as possible and it will still apply.

The networks do not run much new programs on Saturday. Most are repeats. Try your PTAT on any other day and you will get more autohops. As for Fox and CBS, I try to wait at least a week before watching their programming, so I can use autohop.

Yes! The recording itself will be useless (on the H3) because of all the audio skips and video pixeling, but it will skip the commercials while doing so!

Correct, as long as PTAT is on for at least one channel on one day, AutoHop will work on any prime time recording. For instance, I only have mine turned on Sunday nights on Fox, a night I rarely end up watching TV, yet all my eligible recordings get AutoHop.

LOL. I actually broke out my old Roamio OTA for now. My Dish locals just look bad on a 65", so I am going to record my local (except for Fox; low SS) on the Tivo for now with a backup sat version on the H3 EHD. It may be awhile before OTA recordings are sorted out.
