On friday I become a direct tv subscriber. I am in the columbus ohio area and i have ordered The hd pak and will get my locals in hd. My question is: will I get the reciever that is capable of recieving the new hd channels and the b band connector?? thanx!

Yes, you should be receiving a 5 LNB Slimline dish and either a H20 or HR20 (HD/DVR) receiver. Each of these comes with 1 or 2 BBC's, and is compatible with the new HD programming.

I did have one additional question. I signed up for NFL Sunday Ticket promo and was told I do not need to purchase SuperFan to see games in HD. Should I believe this man or call back and make sure?

Several folks have reported exactly what you said but no one has produced evidence by Directv that is the case. Their website still states Super Fan as needed for HD games. I hope its true but I would call and ask for retention and get Super Fan for free just in case. Not that I dont believe folks are being told this, but I dont fully trust 1st level CSR's or installers.
