I doubt they were casing out houses.... If so, the "goons" wouldn't show their faces. Someone could take a picture and in many cases, police officers "know" faces well enough to ID people, and then pull the car over for "failure to signal" and find tools or stolen stuff in their vehicle.

They could have been casing the neighborhood, but who knows now. What you should have done, is write down her license plate number, then called the cops. Let them decide if it's anything to worry about. NEVER confront them, unless you are packing a licensed gun, and you keep it out of sight for emergency use.

There's a lot of crazies out there now, and they/she COULD have just as likely pulled out a gun, and blown your butt away.

The only thing I may see is a no solicitation violation. I really doubt that there were goons sent to your property to intimidate you. More than likely was a couple other sales people that came to get you off the poor girls back.

The way it sounds it doesn't seem like it would be people casing the neighborhood. They had supervisors on the phone and talked at length about Dish. If it were just a bunch of thugs casing houses, they wouldn't have had such an elaborate plan. Dish doesn't send people around like that, so it was probably some retailer looking to sign people up. They just got unlucky that you are both crazy and have a series of complaints against Dish network in the past.

Thank goodness you brought this to their attention. Something is really off here, and I can almost guarantee that your neighborhood was being watched.
I have a few guys that work for me that spent time in the clank, and from what they have told me, this is a pretty common practice among the street homies.
Most would think out of sight is the way to case a place, but generally speaking, they say that if you are seen, most people wont think anything of it.
They said that even if you do get caught, you have an alibi for being there if people see you trying to sell something, just dont try to sell drugs, that raises red flags all over the place.
Does your neighborhood have a neighborhood watch or militia type organization?

What you fail to understand is that in an operation that seems to be as well though out as this one, the police are probably on the payroll.

Which leads me back to my neighborhood watch/militia comment. Thats really the only protection that you or your neighbors have.

Something similar happened to me with DISH a few years ago. I am a DISH customer and also a FTA hobbiest as Iceberg is. I have sat dishes all over my yard. Here in Indianapolis the 500 race is blacked out and Colt football home games too if not sold out. I would watch these events with the FTA setup from then backhaul signals off then appropriate KU sat feed. My neighbor liked the idea so we burried a coax line to his house to mine so he could watch the sports feeds too. THAT WAS ALL, NO DISH NET PROGRAMING! A couple of months after the cable install I noticed then coax pulled out of the ground about ten feet from my house to the neighbors. Thinking it was the cable company snooping I disregarded the event and reburried the thing. My neighbor nor I subscribed to cable. A few weeks latter my DISH signal goes dark and I receive a registered letter from DISH promising legal action for the cable run. WHAT!? I tried to explain but no use. I removed the cable, did the dish id inventory thing and audit and went on with life. How did dish come up with all this and then speculate? I have no idea.
