BBC Issues

i'm new to the hd game and installed the h20-600 tuner a couple weeks ago. however, i ran into a problem:

- installed the BBC and set up the box...worked fine.
- turned off the tuner and turned it back on and it just sits there with the 771 code......searching for satellite.
- removed the BBC and the tuner works fine.

i thought this was a BBC problem so the installer sent me a new BBC. i installed it and the tuner is still unable to acquire data from the satellite with the BBC attached. again, the tuner is able to acquire data from the satellite with the BBC disconnected.

i purchased another tuner and successfully set it up with the BBC connected tonight. however, when i turned the tuner off and back on, the tuner was unable to acquire info from the satellite. i reset the tuner multiple times with the BBC connected to no avail. however and once again......the tuner works fine without the BBC connected.

i need to figure out what is going on so that i can view the new hd channels.

any thoughts? i'm going crazy here. thanks!!

well, first you cant say it works fine cuz u cant get the new channels without the bbc's/ Are you saying that you get no channels with the bbc's installed and all the channels except those on the 103 sat with the bbc's removed? try to keep track of the 771 message, it should say on tuner 1 or 2. this should help you narrow it down then change one thing at a time, swap cables before the bbc's see if the problem stays on the same tuner or switches, then track it from there.

That won't work...he has the H20-600, not an HR-20

He should try a different output on the dish (or multiswitch).

thanks for the responses everyone. i kicked my receiver and unplugged everything for 45mins and reattached everything. the receiver is now working fine with the bbc and i am able to pull all the newer hd channels.....knock on wood. weird.
