I have a h24700 receiver with a slimeline 5lnb dish i get most of my hd channels with b band convertor hooked up but a few say searching for signal. however when i disconnect the bband convertor i get the hd channels i was not getting before but yhe ones i was getting i now get searching for signal. any ideas what problem could be. Also on sat 101 mt ss i8s in the 90+ but when i hook up the bband convertor drops to 70-75:D

Welcome to Satelliteguys! :welcome
Do you have a swm type lnb? That is, how many cables come from the dish into the house? How many receivers/dvrs do you have?

I do not have swm and i only have 1 cable coming into the house with one receiver my signal strenghton 103(ca) are all 0 on all tps with the bband convertor but show 50-70 ss with no bband if this means anything. Thanks for any imput you might have.

Weird! You need the b band converter in your setup. Can you post all of your signal strength levels on all of the satellites? I suspect your dish is out of alignment.

Since there is only one cable coming into the house and he doesn't have a SWM installation, then it's possible that the one output being used from the dish has a problem. Maybe changing to one of the other three would fix it.

It's definitely worth trying, but I doubt that's the problem.

You may also want to check your system setup and make sure it is set on Slim5 and not slim3 or 3lnb(18in) etc. It does sound like the ODU is out of alignment though. Has it always done this or is this a new/recent prob?

to make things simple with bband 103ca all zeros 103cb ss all high nineties. without bband 103ca ss all high eighties and low nineties and ss for 103cb all zeros. Also lose some signal strength when i hook up bband on all other sats is this normal.in other words i have signal strength on 103ca in nineties but when i install bband convertor they all drop to zero signal strength but then have ss on 103cb which i dint have without bband

Have you tried switching the cable at the lnb? Also, do you have another b band converter you can try? The cable could be an issue, too. Maybe you can run a temporary one just to check.
