Battlestar Galactica -- Season 4

The Chicago Tribune piece was rich was insight and much to think about, although I still insist that they wasted too much valuable time on Kara learning the piano; I did not need action scenes; I need answers. :)

Regardless, since Kara's piano player was never there, she must have been "projecting" him - and since last night was the most detail we had gotten about projection in a long time, that seems to confirm the views we have had; Kara certainly has got some cylon blood at a minimum. But I wish we had an answer to how she resurrected, if she did resurrect.

Ah... four episodes and five hours to reveal the mysteries. :D Good stuff.

I'm really gonna miss this series when it's over...

I'm sure we'll get 90% of the answers in the time left...I'd be surprised if some items didn't get left a mystery though. They likely will be minor issues though.

What was the name of the opera house? I couldn't make it out in the stills (thanks for posting them, Don!).

I've been reading Bear McCreary's Blog on the "Someone to Watch Over me" episode. Wow! No wonder this show is as excellent as it is! BSG has been crafted by professionals who do everything they can to make it the best show possible.

I sure hope that they can answer all these and other questions in the next 4 episodes. I really would love to know if the earth we saw is our earth in our past or our future? Are WE the descendants of humans & Cylons mating? I predicted in the past that somehow we were and that humans and cylons would work to move on together and that all our ideas about mythology , government ,democracy, legal laws, etc came from them. But for that ending to happen they would have to go back to earth in our distant past . But I don't see how this will happen now since the 13th tribe is Cylon and from earth and all destroyed now. Like I said before, I sure hope that they tie up all these loose endings in the next 4 shows.

I have a feeling it is Earth.

The 13th were cylons.

The 13th tribe left Kolob and found Earth.

The 13th destroyed themselves except for 5 (that we know of).

The 5 came and found the other 12 colonies.

...as in "Located" found, not as in "Founding Fathers" found... :D

Correct.

So to revise ...

There were 13 tribes on Kolob.
The 13th tribe was "cylon".
The 13th tribe left Kolob and eventually settled on Earth.
The other 12 tribes left Kolob and eventually settled on the 12 colonies.
The 13th tribe destroyed themselves except for 5 (that we know of).
The 5 eventually located the 12 colonies.
The 5 come when the war with the 12 colonies and the 12 colony cylons (I will call these 12CC) is underway.
The 5 convince the 12CCs to stop the war if the 5 make the 12CCs skinjobs.
Enter Cavil ...

Wasn't the original premise that humans created the cylons and they rose up against the humans and declared nuclear war on the 12 colonies. So who created the 13th tribe of cylons? Which came first the chicken or the egg so to speak?

It has all happened before and will all happen again...

I would take the tag line as meaning there was a human cylon war long ago, before current history. Some humans and cylons became partners (like now) and split their ways and formed colonies. Then the humans once again created cylons. They evolved and started the first war in the current history. The cylons are already talking of splitting off from the alliance and starting again.

In this particular incarnation of BSG, I don't think we've been told yet who created the cylons that were on Kobol and left and ended up on Earth...

Yes, this is how I pretty much understand it.

"It has happened before, it will happen again."

The 12 tribes on Kobol "created" (this is my theory) the 13th tribe or the Kobol Cylons (KC). There was some sort of division between the 12 tribes and the KC which prompted the exodus of Kobol. I have a feeling it had something to do with the fact that the KC believed in one god where the 12 tribes did not.

So this was the first cycle ...

The KC find earth taking with them resurrection technology. However, somewhere along the line they start procreating versus resurrection and resurrection technology is abandoned.

With that being said, the KC start making Earth Cylons (EC), and even EC skinjobs. Saul on Earth first picks up on this. So the 5 (Saul, Ellen and crew), anticipating a war look into resurrection technology as a mean to ensure their survival during the war. Sure enough, the war breaks out and they are resurrected.

"It has happened before, it will happen again." This was the second cycle ...

The 5 realizing this cycle figure the 12 colonies will eventually create their own cylons, the 12 colony cylons (12CC), so they race as best they can to find them to warn them.

However, while they are on route, sure enough the 12 colonies create the 12CCs. Which results in the war.

"It has happened before, it will happen again." This is the third cycle ...

The 5 arrive and convince the 12CCs to stop the war if they give them resurrection technology in hopes to break the cycle.

Cavil however has other intentions and eventually convinces (or reprograms) all skinjobs that their human "parents" need to be wiped out. The 5 object. Cavil tricks the 5, kills them, and places them throughout the colonies to "give them a first hand view of the holocaust" and to "teach them a lesson".

The cylons however have their own civil war ...

"It has happened before, it will happen again."

Where did the humans on Kolob come from? Are they descendants of cylons even before them? All I can say is:

"It has happened before, it will happen again." :D

I thought she said something to the effect that due to the fact that the 12 colony cylons believed in "one" god of love, that there was hope for them and that is one of the reasons why they agreed to work with them.

Well after watching Friday's episode yet again I am beginning to think Kara is a full fledge cylon of the 13th tribe. And it looks like from the preview flash that perhaps they find some cloning technology and she comes across one of her clones in a goo tank.

Which makes me wonder if it will indeed turn out that Baltar is a cylon also, there could be untold numbers of cylons from the 13th tribe running around.

Which also brings up the question of how do they not know they are cylon? Is someone working to try to save the human race, first sending out the five, then sending out others?

Three episodes left.. 4 hours to go, how are they going to wrap this up? I think the 5 are done. I think we know all about them, as much as they know themselves. What is to come is not known by the 5.

What is the fleet going to do, with Galactica falling apart faster than they can put it together? One of the raptor pilots needs to win a tube of toothpaste quickly!

Interesting idea but then Cavil would have to know only about the 5. I suppose that would mean the 5 wouldnt know about any of the others as well since they never seem to make any suggestion that there were even other survivors. In fact I think Ellen said that they were the only 5 left. Oh and I forget, wasnt there a cylon detector at one point that actually did work? Perhaps it could only find the current models and not the originals, which they had no idea of at the time.

...

Kara was definitely resurrected ... just can't put my mind around how yet ... hopefully we will get some missing pieces this week ...
