My fiancee and I have had Comcast internet for the last year with pretty much no issues. Since the year is just about up, I decided to see what's available instead of having our price jump from $29.99 to $64.99. Lo and behold, Blast is available for $39.99/month for 12 months, 105Mbps down for current customers. I put it in my "cart", but the page automatically added modem rental, which I don't need.
I called the 1-800 number, only to be told that what I wanted (Blast at $39.99/mo) isn't available through the billing system at the call center, so I HAVE to do it online. I can simply complete the order, then remove the modem rental.
When I tried to submit the order on the website, it said that I HAVE to go through a painfully slow live chat with "Pachi". Pachi told me that what is advertised on the website is not available. what I could get is Blast at 50Mbps plus 100 channels for $59.99/mo. NO, I don't want TV. Pachi then told me I can get Blast at 105Mbps down for $79.99/mo. NO, that's too damn expensive.
I have a few hours free tomorrow before work. Should I bother trying to talk some sense into these people, maybe head to their retail location, or probably have to threaten to leave before I get anywhere with these people? Am I being unreasonable, expecting to get what is advertised on their website for current customers?
If all else fails, my fiancee will cancel the service (in her name) then I'll open a new account in my name after we get back from our honeymoon.
