Backup still running

Not sure what it is about Wednesdays, but for some reason the backup is still running, which is causing a slowdown of the server.

I am keeping an eye on it, and if it does not finish within an hour I will kill it (It looks like SatelliteGuys has been backed up, it is now doing the rest of the machine.

I really haven't noticed any speed difference per say.

I would have never guessed the backup was running.

Backup runs daily starting at 2am. We keep the board open as the backup is able to successfully backup the system with everything online.

There is something about Wednesdays where the backup is still running, when usually it is done by 4am.

I really need to look at the cron jobs and see what is running on Wednesdays which is causing this issue.

BTW I did kill the backup and rebooted the server.

Are you running a full backup on Wednesdays and an Incremental backup every day other than Wednesday?

No I run a full backup every night.

You can never be to safe.

Backups are stored off site.

My board was hacked in December last year. It was a phpBB-forum. Today we're using a Woltlab-forum. It runs much faster and safer.

Just curious, could you tell me what backup product is used to perform backup?

It's a custom written script written by LER. (Who btw is looking for work)

It was slow yesterday. not really slow, but more like it was either working or it wasn't. It worked enough that I could post but I did get annoyed after a few minutes. Happened a few days before that too but I don't remember which day.
