Weird problem. DirecTV satellite system has been up and running for a few months with no issues. Dish is 20 stories up. Sixteen H20-100 receivers connected to a WB616 only a few feet away in the equipment rack. Sonora Design HRPID1422 DirecTV AT9/AUS-9 1A power inserter and polarity locker (5 to 2400 MHz) on the 20th floor about thirty feet from the Slimline 5LNB dish. Three of the four drops have Sonora Design amplifiers just below the power inserter.

The problem: July 26 (or earlier) the satellite receivers stopped receiving signal on the odd transponders from the 101 satellite. Removing the B Band Converter brings the odd transponders back.

Replaced the multiswitch, no change. All wiring and connections checked and look fine. Satellite meter at the dish reads great signal. Replaced several BBCs with no change. Software on receivers shows last update 7/13/08. Forced one of the receivers to DL new software. Only worked with the BBC removed, but no change. Reset to factory defaults, no change. Receiver will only DL guide with the BBC removed.

Twenty one other restaurants in the Metro Atlanta with similar equipment and setup (minus the twenty story cable run) not having any problems.

This one has got me stumped. We are going to replace the dish LNB and re-align tomorrow.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

It is not un-common for the b converters to go bad, have issues, and D* will replace them for free. Have you already tried replacing it?

I think the OP might be in Hawaii not Atlanta, and if so it's a problem with installations in Hawaii that DireCTv is looking into.
But if he is not in Hawaii I am sure he will post back...
