AZ miniMe Configuration Wizzard lost

Ok, we were able to replicate your system over here using a DMS International 8x1 DiSEqC switch along with a V-Box II and got this setup to work successfully.

However, we have discovered that the DiSEqC 1.1 switch type option is not generating the correct DiSEqC switching commands so you have to use the Advanced option instead along with the following antenna setup for your satellites:

LNB frequency: Standard 5150 (LNB type to use for this satellite)

DiSEqC input: off
Committed input: off
Uncommitted input: 8 (DiSEqC 1.1 switch port)
22 KHz tone: off

DiSEqC motor position: 18 (Position number on your G-Box for this satellite)
Use USALS: Off

Once saved, try to scan a known active transponder using Manual transponder scan and it should work. If you still have no signal, please do a receiver shutdown and unplug the AC power cord for about 15 seconds in order to reset the tuner and try to do a manual transponder scan again.

Hopefully this gets you up and running. We have created a bug report in regards to the DiSEqC 1.1 switch type not working in order to resolve it in a future firmware update.

Best regards,

I think I've tried this set up, but I will follow your steps closely and try it again. Thank you for the test set up.

Today I looped the AZ miniMe off one of my other receivers and blind scanned around a bit. I was able to bring in a few channels per sat, but the blind scan seems to miss quite a few. Manual key in works fine if you know what you are looking for. With some help I found my first 4:2:2 feed, some concert set up from Miami on AMC 15. So... the AZ does work, I think my problem is with it operating my diseqc 1.1 switch and issuing motor commands.

Keep in mind that when using the loop out of a receiver to feed a 2nd receiver, you are limited to the same polarity as what transponder the primary receiver is tuned to so in this case, you would have to blind scan each polarity separately and tune to a transponder of the same polarity on the primary receiver in order to properly find all channels. Also, there is generally a significant insertion loss when going through the loop out which varies based on the receiver you are using which may make the blindscan miss weaker transponders so it's best to use a multiswitch when feeding multiple receivers.

Please note for an accurate blindscan, you should be selecting "detailed" instead of "quick" mode. "Quick" blindscan mode uses a fixed 20,700 KHz step size and will pull in wider SR transponders but "detailed" blindscan mode will pull in narrow SR transponders as well and uses a user configurable step size which is set at 5,000 KHz by default.

I think my problem is with it operating my diseqc 1.1 switch and issuing motor commands.

Did you try to configure your receiver as per post #21? If so, what are your results?

I went thru these steps carefully and did get the diesqc 1.1 switch to work. Now bringing in signals it scans in the same number of channels my Raptor finds. So we have made progress, my next challenge is that it doesn't send out 1.2 motor commands in this configuration. :(

Is your G-Box before or after your 8x1 DiSEqC switch when coming from the receiver? Also, what is the brand and model of that switch you are using?

My setup is AZ miniMe> Gbox positioner> 1.1 switch port 8> LNB.

Switch is a DIGIWAVE DGS-SW8X1

Please confirm if you have at least two satellites activated with each of them configured with a different DiSEqC motor position. Unlike other receivers, the motor move command will only be sent when selecting a different satellite to scan or view. If this is true, you should see a "moving..." message when the motor position command is issued.
