Setting up a AZ miniMe, I was going thru this configuration after my first power up. Accidentally exited out and now it is gone. Can this be re-started? I tried going thru the menu's manually but the setup doesn't work.

The configuration wizard simply allows you to override the default settings for language, display resolution, networking options and dish setup when using the receiver for the first time and will simply use the default settings if you exit out of it. It is not mandatory to complete it as the settings can be changed at any time by using the Settings or Channels options of the main menu.

However if you really want to restart the configuration wizard, you can get it back with a factory reset by selecting Settings from the main menu and then Manage settings which will display the following menu:

At this point, selecting Factory reset and reboot which is the last option of this menu will clear all settings and you should get the configuration wizard again once the box reboots. Remember not to press the menu key on the remote when going through the wizard as it will skip it and use the default settings like what happened before.

Ok, looks like I should just find my mistake in the setup menus. So far I've tried for just two sats. I am not getting any 1.1 switch commands or 1.2 motor commands.

Did you change DiSEqC switch type to DiSEqC 1.1 as specified in the getting started guide that came with the receiver? This will ensure that the proper DiSEqC commands are being sent to your switch. Also if you have cascaded switches in your setup, you have to change the DiSEqC switch type to Advanced instead in order to configure your committed and uncommitted ports.

If you still have issues, you may have to also increase DiSEqC switch retries to 1 or more. This is especially true if you have both a DiSEqC 1.1 switch and DiSEqC 1.2 positioner in the same system as one DiSEqC command needs to be sent for each device.

Once you have found the settings that work, don't forget to save your settings to make sure they are used for all configured satellites.

Ok, I did read the "getting started guide" published with the receiver, as well as the factory included set up guide. Trouble is they both differ from the actual menus in the miniME. Do I have the right firmware? Shipped to me with ver 1.70 date 28 8 2013. I am able to interpolate the differences to some degree, but even with a factory re-set and re-runing the set up wizard, at this point I have no 1.1 switch commands or 1.2 motor commands, and no signals.

Version 1.7 is the newest firmware. Hit menu, channels,tuners,setup tuner, setup tuner 1. This should get you to diseqc commands as well as sat activation and antennae setup.

Cat,

Yup did that sequence already.
If I re-connect my Raptor to the same coax, the dish, switch, and motor work fine.
Must be something I skipping in the AZ setup.

I assume you already went in the configuration of each satellite and set the proper switch port and DiSEqC 1.2 position number? If so, you should then be able to use the "Test signal" option in manual transponder scan for that satellite and use the up and down arrow keys on the remote to try different transponders and see if you get a lock. If you don't get a lock, please try to:

- Increase the DiSEqC switch retries parameter to 2 or 3 using the left or right arrow keys.
- Ensure that the Tune timeout parameter in the Tuner Setup menu is set to 40 (default) or higher. In some rare cases, this setting changes to 0 which will prevent the tuner from working. Use the left and right arrow keys to increase or decrease this value.

If it still does not work, please describe how your switch and DiSEqC positioner are connected in your system and we will replicate here in our lab to see if there are any issues with your specific configuration.

Sorry but the link you posted doesn't work for me.
Meantime my setup is AZ miniMe> Gbox positioner> 1.1 switch port 8> LNB.

I did not post any links on my previous message but here's a screenshot of the Setup tuner menu which has the Tune timeout parameter. Make sure that it is set to at least 40 or higher.

And here is the menu that has the DiSEqC command retries parameter which should be set to 1 or higher.

Hopefully this helps you out.

Nice video, Pixl.

I only have two fixed ku dishes, so can't really comment on motorized.

At 2:44 of video on 99 sat, you have diseque input set to off, whereas on 101, you have it set to 8. When using blindscan, I had to lower the step frequency from the default 5000 to 3000 before it would scan in any channels for me. This is with version 1.7 also.

I don't see any issues with 101 satellite setup. Version 1.2 firmware worked the best for me, although the scans were a lot longer.

Hope this helps, Catamount

Ah, an extra set of eyes reveals something I missed. I'll change it when my wife quits hogging the tv, but I don't think it is my main trouble. I'll try your 3000 setting too.

I checked those settings best I could, but some of my screens are different than yours. I made a video showing me going thru several menus, it's a little long but maybe you can spot something in it.

Thanks for the video as it shows exactly what you have tried so far. Please note that it's best to first try to get a signal using manual scan and have at least 1 channel scanned in for each satellite before trying to do a blind scan. Essentially, in order to test your antenna settings, you should be going into manual transponder scan and using the test signal function by pressing the yellow button after selecting the correct satellite and an active transponder. The test signal function is only a signal level meter that will show your current S & Q levels and the radar animation will turn from red to green if you have a lock. Once this happens, you would then press exit once and then the blue button in order to actually scan the transponder in.

I believe that having a DiSEqC 1.1 switch connected after your GBox DiSEqC 1.2 positioner may require you to use Advanced instead of DiSEqC 1.1 for DiSEqC switch type as you have two cascaded devices that are listening to DiSEqC commands.

You would then set the uncommitted port on each satellite to port 8 which corresponds to the port on your DiSEqC 1.1 switch and leave the committed port to off and set your DiSEqC 1.2 position number that corresponds with your GBox. If this still does not work, you can try switching DiSEqC order from Uncommitted / Committed to Committed / Uncommitted.

Best regards,

Mr. Pwr,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the manual settings for one TP (MeTv) but no results. I will try your other advice and post the results on Sunday as my wife has taken over the tv for the night watching football! Bum.

I had another session with the AZ miniMe today. I corrected the diesqc position to port 8 on 99w sat. Also tried 3000 instead of the default 5000 step frequency. This time the scan of one sat took over 10 minutes. Still no signal.
I also tried the advanced switch setup, with uncommitted/committed and the reverse setting. Nothing with manual, test, or blind scan.
I disconnected the AZ and reconnected my Raptor to the same cables. Dish, LNB, switch and motor working normal.

Ok, we will attempt to replicate your system configuration over here to find out if it causes any issues. So just to confirm, your system is setup as follows:
Code:
                                          |=========== LNB 1 & 2 === (=
miniMe ---> GBox ---> 8 x 1 DiSEqC switch |=========== LNB 3 & 4 === (=
                                          |=========== LNB 5 & 6 === (=
                                          |=========== LNB 7 & [B]8[/B] [B]----- [/B](-
