You place it by the left side vent and let it pull the air out of the unit.How did you attach that fan to the DVR?

The stated operating temperatures typically go down to 0C. Obviously, the average temperature would have to be somewhat above the minimum.I know the drives won't run if the temp is too low, it will give you a warning saying indeed the temp is too low.
Normally I'd agree with this, but in this case, a "$10 ounce of prevention" was worth it to me over a "free pound of cure" to avoid the downtime and hassle of frequent reboots and potential hardware replacement.Personally, I don't worry about temps as Dish will replace them anyway. I'm not about to spend extra dough to make up for design flaws. I move all my important stuff to EHD and back up timers to remote.
