I have an LG TV connected to a Joey 4K. For years I have used this as my wakeup alarm. I set the TV to go on at a certain time and the Joey to Autotune to a specific station that I want to watch when I wake up. Recently (last week or two maybe?) when the TV turns on I get the floating sleep screen that says press the sat button to watch TV (and even when I do this it goes to a different channel than the one I set).

I have tried deleting and recreating the timer both from the Guide and by using a manual timer. I even deleted it altogether figuring it would at least go on with the "learned" regular channel and I still got the sleep screen. FWIW, under normal use the Dish remote controls the power On for the TV as well (together).

Any ideas? TIA

You need to change the hoppers inactivity sleep timeout in the power settings menu. The default is 4 hours and you need to change it to 8 hours before it sleeps. A hopper update may have changed it back to the default time.

Thanks but that didn't work. I changed it to 8 hours (I noticed that it was on 4 hours when I was troubleshooting but couldn't remember what I had it set to previously) and then setup a test timer and changed the TV power on time as well and the same thing happened.

I have all of my receivers inactivity setting at Off. I have done this since I started with Dish in 1998. See if that works for you.

Still the same thing. Although this time it was at least on the correct channel once I hit the sat button but that may just be a coincidence. It seems less to do with inactivity and more to do with the TV and Joey not not acting as one like when the remote turns on both. This is so weird as I wasn't kidding when I said I have used it this way for years and never had an issue.

Do you have CEC enabled on both the Joey and the TV? You might want to check that.
