ive got autopay, but i didnt recieve an email confirmation. any way to enable this?
i like knowing when and how much is billed.

i know i can check it out on the site, but any online payment should send a confirmation email

after several emails to directv i now know they do not generate a recipt for the autopay.

now to decide if i want to stay with it.
it can be that difficult to do 99.999% of other places i deal with have this

Do you have an online account with DirecTV. If not, sign up and then you can view your statements and change auto pay if you want.

I have autopay and do receive an email when the payment is posted.

I had statement billing but always payed online. I added auto-pay to get the free HD but I kept statement billing. Now, they auto-charge my CC yet I never get an email receipt either. I do still get my paper bill later and it has a zero balance. jdspencer said he gets an email receipt but it also sounds like he has paperless billing (only way to see statements online). Maybe they only sends a receipt if you are paperless.

Does the "Auto Pay" tend to make you less attentive to the charges? I mean this is a big incentive for
a company to get you to signup and then offer the lead in 3 months of extra programming in the hope you will
forget and continue to 'Auto Pay"
Like the old adage of the frog falling asleep as the pot is on the stove and warming up all nice and cozy.
Then suddenly wham your cooked. LOL
Just a thought.

You still get a statement, whether it be paper or email. All autopay does is keep you from having to manually make the payment. If you don't look at your statement and they charge you for extras that you didn't cancel, that's your fault. I could see that being a problem if they didn't send you an itemized bill and just charged you (AOL made billions that way from people who stopped used their service but never cancelled the billing and never really thought twice about the charges because they were so used to seeing them), but that's not the case here.

I've had Autopay for years with no issues. For me, it's a convenience. I check my online bill each month for any issues.

Agree. To me, Autopay = Autopilot. All I do is check the course every month. It's been smooth flying for many years for me.

i just like to know that the payment has went through
ive used online/autopay for amny things
whenever i fail to get a receipt its a redflag saying that there is an issue on thier end and the payment was never done
yes ive had this happen more then one time
this is the first place i can think of that doesnt do a reciept once thepayment has credited if you pay online

It states on the statement when the card is going to be processed .

Also if it does not go through we let you know.
