Is there any way to auto lock the Uplink Report when it is linked and then automatically open a discussion thread in another forum?

This would be like the old manual report where the report was in one thread and the discussion in another thread. The discussion needs to go to its own forum so that when we look at the Uplink forum and see the new message icon we know the new message is uplink information not more chatter and speculation not hard facts.

There are no plans for that.

You can tell new actual uplink reports because the title will have a different time.

There is a lot of non uplink chatter in the uplink reports currently, and we could be idiots and tell people to be quiet and just talk about uplinks or we can let the people express their displeasure over lack of new HD. I expect the off topic chat to die down once Dish hits the switch on new HD. :)

Mentioned this once before, but it would be nice if the thread titles were reformatted slightly. The way it is currently implemented, you cannot tell which uplink report has the new activity, so you have to enter the forum and check every time you see a waving flag.

Well, actually Digi did that with one of them last week, appending "No New HD" to the last uplink of the week, lest people not freak out.

Not what I meant. If you are on the main index page of the forums, before entering the uplink center, the Latest Thread field always reads "DishNetwork Uplink Activity... "

This is because the main page truncates the thread name. If Digi would change the title of the threads to "4/11/08 12:58 DISH Network Uplink Report - 950 changes" the good stuff would show up on the main page and I would seldom need to go into the forum to see that it is yet another response to an older report by someone whining that they have no new HD and that they will now go to DTV.

Just looking at efficiency.
