I'm moving back to DirecTV and need to know if the mast mount (plate that is bolted to solid surface) on the slimline AU9-S has the same bolt pattern as the original triple LNB dish (Pase II Plus). I declined the AT9 dish install many months ago when the installer said he would not install it on my chimney due to be bolt pattern being much larger. I originally installed the 3LNB in '01 using the right masonry bolts and have had an installer and antenna guy both compliment me on my installation. I'd like to mount the AU9-S to the same mount if possible with a monopole.

Thanks!

No it will not fit nor will the regular 3 LNB monopole work either. The diameter of the AT9 and AU9 is bigger (2" I believe). The AT9/AU9 also wants to be installed as a tripod due to the size and weight. I do have my AT9 on a monopole but its on a bigger Channel Master GainMaster pole which is the same size as the AT9. The installer also rigged a single tripod leg for additional weight support. Works great but you can not retrofit a regular 3 LNB dish to support an AT9 or AU9.

Yep.....I just found this out when the installer came out to do my upgrade on the 4th. Bummer! Had to take the pole I use to a welder and get him to put a new mounting plate on there that matches the foot of the 5LNB dish. Installer was cool and left the foot with me so I could take it along with the pole to the welder. Should have it back on Monday....install has been rescheduled to this coming Wednesday.
