I was talking with a DirecTV installer who was in my area. He told me there was a Revision 1 Slimline dish which didn`t require a wideband 6X8 switch. I`m not sure he understood what this meant and I certainly don`t. Can someone provide some information on this and when it should be specified for the installation.

If you ONLY need 4 (or less) outputs, then you do not need ANY kind of switch.
But if you need more, then as boba said, you'll need the WB68.

Also I believe there was a problem on some of the very early AU9 (slimline) dishes which could only be fixed by adding a multiswitch, even though you were using less than four outputs. Revision I dishes corrected the problem.

AU-9 Revision 1

So it sounds like that I need to be sure that I get a Revision 1 AU-9.
The installer told me that the revision number was on the box by the UPC.

Will the pre-rev.1 Slimline work without a multiswitch for a single DVR setup??

does anyone know where i can find the installation manual for the AU9 slimline dish... when the installer installed the dish he didnt leave the manual...
