What a crappy article! The Dish/DirecTV merger/buy-out a few years ago was universally decried by government and press as monopolistic and unworkable. Why would a NewsCorp acquisition of Dish be any different now?

If some NATIONAL company came up with an offer, charlie may sell, but to a company that's only in 13 states, he said he wasn't interested in selling his company to that situation. Like him or not, you gotta respect a guy who doesn't just take the money and leave everyone at the mercy of AT&T, he wants to leave us in good hands.
Echostar is NOT actively inviting pursuers, but they will listen to any offer just like any other company would. Enough already...
Wrong. Charlie The Chairman ALSO owns the majority of votes. NO ONE ELSE'S vote matters!richmert said:... the shareholders will have to vote on it. then it wont matter what the chairman thinks or wants.

gee whiz simon i just realized that i asked if charlie was still the majority shareholder in the same post you quoted. why didnt you include that part in your response? why did you take my quote out of context and emphatically claim i was wrong when i did politely ask the question before i noted there would be a shareholder vote?SimpleSimon said:Wrong.
