I will be doing a pole mount for my AT-9. I am planning to use a 1.915"OD thick wall pipe. I measured the OD of an AT-9 mast and it is approximately 0.060" larger than what I`m planning to use. Is that small difference in diameter going to be a problem in securing the dish to my mast???

What is wall pipe? You need the correct OD size and use sch40 galvanized steel pipe, mounted at the correct depth for your area, set in concrete with an anchoring device at the bottom of the pipe to prevent twisting in the concrete.

Thick wall (~0.250") pipe. I`m not sure what that translates to in "schedule".
Do you see any problem with the dish mount fitting the OD???

I just made a sleeve out of .035" aluminum shim stock from the local building supply store and wrapped it around the top 6" of my 1.9" ground pole. Specs call for 2" OD pipe but it is difficult to locate pipe that actually measures 2".

I still haven't done an AT9 installation, so my familiarity with that product is limited to what I think I know from posts I've read, but isn't EMT electrical conduit measured by its outer diamter rather than by it inner diameter, as plumbing pipe is? Can't someone just use 2" O.D. EMT in this application?

No, EMT is measured by ID. In my case I used 1.5" rigid conduit which measures 1.9" OD and with the sleeve it is almost 2". 2" EMT measures 2.375" OD as do the fence posts commonly found in hardware stores. Commercial grade ss40 chain link posts are available in 2" OD but you have to double check them too to make sure that they are actually 2" OD. The rigid EMT was a much cheaper solution.

I bought 2" pipe from a local fence dealer. It is actually 1.9". The tech didn't tighten the bolts enough and the dish spun in a heavy wind. I realigned it, tightened the bolts, and marked the post and mounting bracket so if it happens again, I can align it easier.

At-9

From your message it sounds like a 1.9" dia. (OD) will work if the dish mount is properly tightened.
