ASC 421 C-band lnbf - glass piece

What's the square glass piece for that comes with the lnbf and is separate inside the box?

Was it black and pliable? Mine came with some black tape that I think was meant to be used to seal the F-connector.

If it's about 2" square and will fit in the throat of the LNBF it's probably a dielectric plate for circular polarized signals. Mine didn't come with this but I've heard mention that some people's are including this.

It fits in the throat. Thanks. lnbf works fine without it, but wasn't sure. I bought 2 of the lnbf's and both have it.

Could be a dielectric plate . Used for circular sats . Think thease are mainly Atlantic birds ? Pr Pacific birds ?
