Just two things. Now you are aware why they want to lock you in to a two year deal.Other is either they buy or go back with tivo to produce a good and quality hd dvr.

They want to lock people in for the same reason any company does that subsidises hardware and installs cheap or free on the front end; they want to reduce churn and make money off of what they gave you up front. There is no other conspiracy behind it. The same goes for credit checks and deposits; they want to assure themselves a return or profit on any time, credit and property given.

This HD-DVR thing is bad, but what affect do you thing the HD-DVR had on D*'s 2 million customer jump in 2 years? NADDA, i put in alot of Hi-Defs and DVR's but, i put in double the amount of Basic and Multi-Sats minor set back, long term affect ? ZILCH.

Its not bad, just blown way out of purportion by impatience; fall 06 isn't even here yet.
