Arghhh, I am so frustrated with the H3 timers situation

Couple of months ago when I had problems adding new timers I called Dish and the rep asked me if by any chance I reached the 99 timers limit so I assumed, apparently incorrectly, that he knew what he was talking about.

On my HWS I did a test about a year or so ago and got it up to 199. My present timer count has climbed up to 179. Will have to purge it down soon.

Glad I found this thread.

My H3 also missed recording both "The Expanse" and "The Magicians" first on March 8, 2017 Season 2 Episode 7 of both shows on Syfy, and then yesterday April 5, 2017 Season 2 episode 11 of it missed both again.

The H3 has been recording various other shows and the other episodes of these shows correctly.

I looked ahead to next week and see that "The Expanse" is incorrectly not even shown in the guide, and "The Magicians" is not set to record. So I added a new event to record "The Magicians" next week and will have to keep an eye out for the guide to fix itself and adjust as needed for "The Expanse."

I suspect that the guide database for these shows has some errors that are making this not record correctly. How do we go about telling Dish Network about this problem so that they might take interest in correcting this issue?

I further suspect that although the guide that we see with the title "The Magicians" shows the same name, the guide's data base has a difference identifier number for these shows sometimes, and this causes the H3 to miss the recording.

Anyway, glad to know that my H3 isn't any more broken than others... :)

Yea, I missed an episode of Smackdown a few weeks ago because it got renamed from "WWE Smackdown!" to "WWE Smackdown". And it wasn't recording Feud for some reason and now I have two of the same timer set, just in case.

I'd suggest redoing all the timers that are important to you, that should help.

The problem is some shows (like the Expanse), redoing the timer will help for one episode or two, then it happens again. They need to get this crap fixed correctly.

As for next week - as of this morning the guide doesn't show The Expanse for next week (instead two half hour shows are in that time slot), but I know when I watched this week's episode there was a "next week on..." teaser.

Also you can see online that there are still two episodes. One next week and then another the following week.

Sydney's online schedule (last night when I looked) also didn't show a the Expanse airing on 4/12. Had that Dark side show listed instead. Anyway, I too am having timer issues with The Magicians and the Expanse both.

The other problem is it seems the timer can only be fixed when the Hopper 3 is basically physically in the same house as you. It seems one can't fix the problem with Dishanywhere.com online when one is elsewhere.

I hate that Good Morning America timer works like a charm Mon - Friday, but on weekends the timer says Good Morning America ; Weekend edition , and it get no recordings. I set a separate timer for just on weekends and it will show it will record and by Saturday I get no recordings. No matter how I adjust the timers to daily, weekly or new or new and reruns, I get no recordings about half the time. I have to baby sit the timers and this weekend once again, no show recording for Saturday. Never ,Ever missed an episode using old guide data we had before the disastrous Rovi guide.

I have neen baby sitting my timers even before I switched to DISH when I was with Charter. Every Sunday morning I go thru the up coming Mon-Sun timers by comparing them with a printed Titan TV schedule. Then also every morning I go thru that day's timers again. I know this is redundant but I catch and fix all the timer issues. I have very little timer problems by using this method.

My timers for "Rick and Morty" have been fowled up since last weekend and on playback, just seem to show the same episode over and over. Then, my timer for "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" started missing episodes, so i tried recreating it and that has worked so far. Was Episode 10 of "The Expanse" the last one since that's the last one I have recorded.

I went to the Expanse site and it shows Season 2 Episodes 11 " Here There Be Dragons" which we recorded this week on 4/5 , 12 "The Monster and the Rocket" and 13 "Caliban's War". It has been renewed for a 13 episode season 3.

I have the same problem with GMA weekend. I am constantly restoring the timer. The GMA timer was good last night but by this morning it was off again. I missed the program.
I got the H3 so I wouldn't have to do this. I'm really frustrated and not happy. DISH better get on the guide folks and get their sh*t together.
I hope DISH are living up to their commercials as the company that listens.

By the way, I set a lot of my timers out at the 8 day limit. Whether it's just me, but I am noticeing more TBA spaces or general episode information on the program.

Just ran across this one. I have a timer set to record "South Beach Classics" on Velocity. When I hit the DVR list a few minutes ago, I find it's been recording anywhere from 2-5 full copies of each episode.

I've had an ESPN "30 for 30" series timer setup. New episode coming up this week on Kentucky Basketball. Glad I thought to check. Even though it had been recording reruns of old 30 for 30 shows since the guide data changeover, the guide showed the new one wasn't set to record, and the timer showed no sign of picking up this episode.

Next Sunday, 4/15, Doctor Who is back on BBCA. Guide shows new episode so I set a new timer for new episodes. The episode is not showing up in the schedule. I had to set a timer specific to this episode for it to show up in the schedule. Removing old and adding new doesn't work here as there is no "old". Dish? Response? Is this another "guide issue" that you seem to not be able to fix for months now?
