SatelliteGuys is looking to expand and we are looking for experts to help us out!

Experts are people who eat live and breathe a product if there is news about a product, or a software upgrade you are the person who knows about it first!

We want to find some experts who want to help us and we want to help them! We can put experts in touch with the PR and management folks who make the product you love. Experts who stand out might even become SatelliteGuys staff and will be welcome to join us at events such as CES where you can meet people who make your product face to face. We might even give you your own forum for your product where you can break news about that product and help others learn more about that product and how to get more out of it!

So if you have a product you love and you eat, live and breath it and think you would be able to help us then please let us know!

Thank you for helping us make SatelliteGuys better for all! :)

A photography forum wouldn't be a bad idea. I am no expert, but do know my way around a DSLR camera. Don Landis sure knows the video side of digital equipment. Since no one has posted in this thread I thought I might just throw this out there. ;)

Well, Jason is the obvious gadgetfreak (thus his new screen name). I tend to research new equipment carefully, buy what I need and then ignore the new product announcements until I can't do what I need. There is always new gear coming out and if you focus too much, you will drive yourself crazy and broke. I guess I am saying this is why I might not be a good candidate.

OTOH, I am knowlegable about a lot of different technologies and basic product types. TIVO, cablecards, signal routing, etc. What I enjoy doing is helping to steer newcomers into workable solutions and solving problems. If you look at my posts over in the AV area, you will see that is where I contribute best. I've been out of satellite for 5 years now, and cut the cable over a year ago, so I am posting on OTA, ROKU, TIVO OTA, HT setup, soundbars, that sort of stuff. I'll continue to do that, and I believe that is where our strength lies in the HT forums. AVS is good at providing detailed technical arguments about the relative merits of processing chips in Marantz vs Denon receivers, but they are often hostile and uncaring to the poor guy who wanders in and asks whether he should buy a plasma or LED set. That is where I want to be contributing.

I am a little confused on what type of expert Scott is looking for, but I am surprised at the lack of response to his request. Personally I would love a photography forum, however I don't believe this type of forum would be very popular here. Since my retirement a few years ago photography has become a fun hobby that I enjoy very much, but a Thom Hogan or Ken Rockwell I am not. ;)

If you start a forum on Studebakers, I'm your man. Other than that, I'll defer to the real experts.

Not sure anyone wants to say they are an Expert.

Currently the experts we are looking for are experts on...

ROKU
Netflix
Amazon Prime

To keep our members updated about news, tips and tricks for all the above. :)

I nominate teachsac,he's been very helpful to me in the roku dept.

All jokes aside, am up to date with all the gaming and movie news/releases. I also hold my own in the streaming department as well (online and from other devices within the household) and VOIP phones. I wouldnt say am an "expert" but definetely know more than the next guy.

I'll volunteer. Amazon, Netflix, Roku, and Tivo are what I have now. HT equipment is my expertise. And TV programming.

S~
