Are the SkyVision KU packages available on 80CM KU Dish?

I noticed that SkyVision offers a DIGITAL Ku-band Sports Pak. Most of the packages are C-band. Would I be able to subscribe to this KU band package (with the proper legal equipment) and receive it on my 80CM ku-band dish? I'm not interested in movie packages, MTV, etc., but I would love an all sports package.

You HAVE to have a C-Band dish to take the downloads/guide
(and a 4DTV receiver)

So I might have to go with the 8ft Fortec dish instead of the 6ft dish (plus get a 4DTV receiver - ouch!) :)

Justifying the cost a 4dtv receiver and a C-band dish may be a deal killer with the wife. :(

If you can afford the bigger Dish then go for it, you will be a lot happer. I have seen how much a difference there is between a 6 foot and 8 foot (and 8 foot and 10 foot!)

The only problem with getting a bigger C Band Dish is the larger you go it is sometimes harder to pick up certain KU signals.

Look around it may not be to hard to get a 10 foot dish for FREE, you would probably need to go and take it down and transport it youself but it would be worth it.

I miss my 10 foot Dish.

I'm looking. A house down the street has one mounted on the roof of their house. I'm not sure if it is being used, but I would never want to take it down out of fear that I would damage their roof. Maryland is a sue happy state. I don't want to finance new shingles for a someone else's house.

We had 3 ten footers being given away (as long as you were willing to do the work to move them) within 300 yards of our home. I only grabbed one because I already was pushing what was here and too many might get the county excited. The nice thing is this works much like the telescopes in my hobby in that big is really a lot bigger than the diameter would imply. (A 6 footer gets you about 28.26 sq ft of signal gathering while an 8 is almost double that at 50.24 sq ft and a 10 good for almost triple at 78.5 sq ft.

What if you had someone else that had a c-band that could map your receiver could you then slave it to your ku band receiver and dish?
One of the forum members from Virginia was asking for help to try and do this a couple of weeks ago. Don't know how he came out. I don't see why it wouldn't work. To get it authorized for programming, you would have to be able to receive C-band (I think) for the authorization. I don't see why you couldn't do that while you had it hooked up to someone elses receiver for the maps.

Well that was me and I am still trying to make it work. I got remapped and authorized by hooking up to someone elses BUD who could see G1. One of the channels I purchased was the Game Show Network on X4 which is Ku. I have my 920 slaved to the Manhattan and I cannot seem to get a DCII lock light. I don't think it's a matter of signal as I seem to have plenty. I have the slave output of the Manhattan going to a HF splitter and then to the C and Ku inputs on the 920.
