I just finished up my first year of service and got the price increase associated with year two. To offset this increase, I changed my package from the 200 package to the 60 channel package. The new package does not have Disney or Nick channels. I had lots of movies and TV programs recorded to the DVR from those channels. They were recorded months ago when I subscribed to those channels and had been working fine. Now that I dropped those channels, it won't let me watch the recordings. It says you are viewing a pay channel that you do not subscribe to.
Are these recordings really inaccessible now? That seems a little unfair since I paid for the recorded content. Also, my recordings of one Nick show seem to still work. I also have recordings from HBO and other premium channels from the weekends when they were offered free. Those recordings have always worked even though we don't subscribe to those channels. Also, if I were to add those channels back, would the recordings still be there and active again? Can anyone please clear this up for me? I would hate to lose this large library of recordings.
