Are files on external USB drive encrypted?

I am planning to get a USB drive for my HD722 receiver, just want to know if the files(SD & HD) on USB drive are encrypted or not?

Is it a way to play them back on PC?

If they are encrypted for normal channels, how about ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX broadcasting channels?

All encrypted and in a different file system, cannot use the drive in a PC anymore after that (unless you want to format it). So basically you're dedicating a drive to your TV cause, period.

ALL channels follow this rule.

You can mount the dish formatted drive under linux ..
