"Aps" vs. Computer?

That heat issue certainly may be a big part of the problem. I am going to be out of range of any internet for a couple of weeks. I will decide what to do eventually. As others have quoted,"it is only TV". Thanks to all.

In response to these prompt suggestions, I pulled the Roku 4 out of the closet and connected it using wifi as the ethernet cable was unsightly and I had damaged it pulling it out of the wall. The Roku shows software version 7.6.0 and I choose to "update the connection" and it remained at 7.6.0
I'd leave the Roku powered for at least 24 hours to see if it will update on its own. If it won't, it is possible that they stopped updating the 4400R firmware at 7.6.0.

You might try jabbing Roku and see if they might not be willing to make you a deal as bruce hinted.
