I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to end up doing.

If I stay with tmobile, I can get the iPhone but the data here from them is edge. Of course that means really unlimited data and all the rest for $50 plus the cost of the phone. I could go to Verizon or AT&T with senior plan plus data for about $60 per month, but that is certainly not for unlimited data.

I'm leaving Verizon when I can. T- mobile will save us 100 a month. I'd stick with t-mobile .

I switched to Verizon. Decided that with the senior plan, my cost is very doable and slightly less than T-Mo cheapest with an iPhone 5. The problem is that T-Mo here coverage isn't all that great and the data is all 2G at best.

Now I've got the Verizon iPhone 5, senior plan for $60/month and 4G/LTE coverage all over the place.
