This is a pretty typical Apple move, to try and get rid of their old stock before the new thing is announced. Not that I think it's a bad business strategy (it's actually a pretty good one), I just don't think its a good public relations strategy. I personally own a few Apple products, but I still get a bit irked with how fast they churn out new generations of devices, which makes the ones we have seem old and useless.
